Narcos, another amazing hit show from Netflix is getting stronger with the release of the second season.

The show is based on real life story of the Rise and Fall of Pablo Escobar, the King of Coke. The second season is basically about the hunt for Pablo Escobar. The usage of the real life footage for certain important scenes makes the story even more gripping.

There are very few TV shows that come up with an impactful second innings, and Narcos is surely one of them. Through out the series of 10 episodes, the narration of the story of catching Pablo Escobar has really kept you on the edge of your seat. There are other subplots and stories as well that are running throughout the show besides Pablo’s story. The presence of a documentary style element acquaints you with the new characters that are based on real life people. The last few episodes turn out to be the major highlight of this season.

Wagner Moura, who portrays Pablo Escobar has done a fantastic job. He shows each and every shade of Pablo Escobar from being a caring husband to a ruthless murderer and King of Cocaine with an exceptional ease. He has totally immersed himself into the character that he is portraying.

Additionally, Javier Peña is one such actor who portrays the character of Pedro Pascal – a dedicated cop with great elan. He has committed himself to get hold of Pablo Escobar either by hook or by crook.

The title sequence and opening theme of the show is something that really delights you. The opening theme – “Tuyo” is composed by Brazilian singer Rodrigo Amarante. The title sequence aptly uses 70’s-80’s themed images in depicting drug trafficking and even goes on to using Pablo’s real life footage. The title sequences really set your mood for the show with its amazing music and visuals.

Should you Watch it??
I would say you should definitely watch this one as it is really worth your time. My rating for the second season is 4 out of 5.  Moreover, do not get into knowing Pablo Escobar’s history beforehand. Discovering more about him while watching the series is an experience in itself. It is an amazing history lesson of world’s richest criminal ever. Real life stories are indeed stranger than fiction!
