Neil Patrick Harris is back with a bang. This time, he is playing the challenging role of “Count Olaf” in Netflix’s New Show “A Series of Unfortunate Events” which was based on the children’s novel series of the same name by Lemony Snicket.
The first season consists of eight episodes which adapts first four books of the series, dividing one book into two episodes.Although, the show introduce new sub-plot which was not in the books but I won’t spoil that for you. It was really a difficult task to portray the role of Count Olaf, which was before done by Jim Carry, who is in my opinion is one of the versatile actor of all time. But I have to say that Neil did a fantastic portrayal of Count Olaf. He added his own elements like singing and sometimes breaking the fourth wall, which makes his portrayal of Olaf more unique.

The show’s main cast includes some of good actors and actress like Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, K. Todd Freeman, along with recurring cast includes Will Arnett & Cobie Smulders. Also guest cast includes Joan Cusack, Aasif Mandvi.
Patrick Warburton gives an impressive performance as Lemony Snicket. He is the narrator/character of the show. His character gives a balance of stability and depth to the show, where on the other side Neil’s Character added elements of chaos and mischief
Also, I would like to give a special mention to K. Todd Freeman. He portrays the family banker of the Baudelaire parents. He plays the role of a clumsy banker very well that you’ll love to hate him in the end.
A Series of Unfortunate Events | Theme Song:
The show’s Opening Theme Song “Look Away” is sung by Neil Patrick Harris and he is a good singer. The unique part of the opening theme song is that, It tells the viewers the short description of the story and it changes after every two episodes. Which is a very unique way to tell story to the audiences.
Should you Watch it??
I would say Absolutely. You will love this show. My ratings for the First Season is 3.5 out of 5. It’s an amazing story with lots of twists and turns along the way.
